Email · Transactional mail, sender signatures

Connect your own Postmark account

A transactional-first mail provider. Sending is authorized by a server token, and the From address has to match a confirmed sender signature in the account.

Scope. This integration sends Email. This provider has no delivery webhook wired yet: a send is recorded with the acceptance outcome and any error code it returned, not with a later delivery status. Routing and automatic failover, per-number pacing and segment accounting are SMS-channel features rather than Email ones: a Email send goes out on the single connection you configure. Opt-out suppression is applied to marketing sends on every channel. Whaleal Platform is a message orchestration layer: it calls Postmark’s public API using your account. We do not resell message volume, do not mark up your Postmark bill, and do not own your account.

What you need from Postmark

Gather these in the Postmark portal first. The connection form asks for exactly these fields and nothing more.

FieldWhat it is
serverTokenServer Token. The token for the server you send from — Postmark sends it as a header, and it is not the account API token.

Credentials are sealed with AES-256-GCM and the console only ever shows a masked value afterwards. Plaintext is never written to logs and never sent back to the browser.

What we configure on the connection

  • Sender address (From). Must correspond to a sender signature you have already confirmed in Postmark.
  • Default send pacing: 10 messages per second. This is a conservative starting point, applied per connection, and you can change it at any time. Your real ceiling is set by Postmark — check your account quota and raise the value to match.

Why teams pick Postmark

  • A per-server token rather than an account-wide credential
  • A strict sender-signature model, so the From address cannot drift silently
  • Domain and signature approval stay in your own Postmark account

Worth knowing

  • Postmark reports failures inside a 200 response body, so the send is judged on that field rather than on the HTTP status alone.

What stays on your side

These are yours to hold — and that is the point of bringing your own account: the relationship, the rates and the compliance stay in your name, not ours.

  • Account approval and billing terms
  • Domain verification, plus the SPF and DKIM records for the domain you send from
  • Sender reputation, and any blocklist remediation that follows from it
  • The quotas and rate limits Postmark grants your account
